We're getting married September 17th, 2016 in the U.C. Berkeley Botanical Garden in Berkeley, California.
We're overjoyed to be celebrating with you in September!
Our ceremony & reception will be held at the U.C. Botanical Garden at Berkeley, CA.
This is in the San Francisco Bay Area (just a bridge away from San Francisco).
The ceremony is in a beautiful Redwood tree grove ampitheater (outdoors, but shaded) and the reception will be
on the same site, in Julia Morgan Hall.
(Please note - cellphone reception can be spotty at this location.)
Semi-formal attire.

Ceremony will start at 3pm, with cocktail hour and dinner reception to follow.
For those driving, please note there is a University of California - Berkeley football game that evening (starting at 7:30pm) and will most likely finish around the same time as our wedding. So expect some traffic and pedestrians upon leaving.
For those using the BART subway on Saturday or Sunday to SFO, please note that part of the line will be closed for repairs. They'll have you get off the train and onto a shuttle to get to the next station. So give yourself some extra time (more info)
Schedule:
- Saturday - 2:20pm Shuttle departs from DoubleTree hotel for venue
- Saturday - 3pm Ceremony starts (cocktails & appetizers after ceremony. dinner around 6pm)
- Saturday - 10pm Shuttle departs to return to hotel
- Sunday- 10:30am donuts in Cesar Chavez Park (the park right next to DoubleTree hotel). The park has pretty views of the city and golden gate bridge (unless it's foggy). If you're still in the area, drop by, eat a donut & say goodbye!

Alternatives
- Most other hotels in Berkeley will be close enough to the ceremony and reception site to be reachable by taxi, Uber or Lyft.

A alternative option to expensive hotels is using AirBnB. You can rent entire apartments or just a bedroom
in an apartment.
A few things we recommend:
- Driving along the famous California coast (stopping in Half-Moon Bay for a day trip, or heading further south to Monterey/Carmel or Big Sur for a few days)
- San Francisco: Golden Gate Bridge, trolley rides, Golden Gate Park, our favorite hike, Land's End (with views of the coast and bridge. 3miles total),
or come visit us in Cole Valley!
- Napa Valley/Sonoma- wine country
Weather:
September is actually our warmest month, but the temperature still gets chilly in the evenings
(especially when there is fog) so we recommend bringing jacket/pants.

BART: this is the subway system. It connects to both airports and San Francisco. It's not as extensive as the

MUNI: this is the bus system & the light rail system. The buses are denoted by numbers
(aka the 33, the 6) The light rail is a nice, faster option (goes underground & outside). The light rail is

Driving: if you want to rent a car for a portion of your trip (seeing the coast, Napa, etc)- we suggest returning
it before the portion you stay in San Francisco. Not only is parking hard to find (especially in the tourist areas),
but there are also a lot of parking regulations (2 hour limit, street sweeping, etc) and there are also lots of
crazy steep hills and confusing one way streets.
Visiting San Francisco tips:

San Francisco is made up of many micro-neighborhoods. Here is a decent map breakdown.

Most tourists tend to stay in Union Square (better proximity to public transit and lots of hotels) or Fisherman's
Wharf (by some of the larger tourist attractions, but a bit harder to get to). North Beach is a nice alternative-
close to both with lots of Italian restaurants and cute houses. Duboce Park (in Lower Haight) is also nice- right on
the public transit line, but less touristy

Areas to avoid staying in: Tenderloin (this is right by union square, so be careful when booking that area), Civic
Center, 6th street

We live in Cole Valley on the east side of Golden Gate Park, which is very pleasant but there are very few hotels

in an apartment, and it gives you more options for locations which will help get you out of the tourist/downtown
areas (come stay near us in Cole Valley or Inner Sunset! We have cute restaurants, shops & are on a train line
that gets downtown in 15minutes)
